Judith Eccles Wight - Rest In Peace
September 24, 2020
We are saddened to learn of the passing of a fellow genealogist, webinar presenter, and friend. Judith Eccles Wight passed away yesterday, September 23, 2020.
Judy was the first to teach our webinar audience about researching our ancestors in Ireland and is the author of our Legacy QuickGuide on Irish Genealogy. She was kind, eager to help, and a very good educator.
In her honor, we are unlocking her 8 webinars from the members-only area for the rest of the month.
- The Three Cs of Irish Research: Civil Registration, Church Records, and Census
- Breaking Down Your Irish Brick Wall: Irish Estate Records
- Researching Your Irish Ancestors: Beyond the Basics
- Breaking Down Your Irish and Scottish Brick Wall in the New Poor Law Records of Scotland
- A Treasure Trove of Irish Websites
- Irish Research 101: Learning the Research Process
- Some Lesser Known Irish Resources
- Irish Genealogical Records in the 17th-19th Centuries
We will miss Judy. Until we meet again.
I hope to take advantage of this opportunity, that you.

In the early days of Legacy's webinars, Judith was one of my favorites as I was just beginning my Irish research. Her information was helpful, always. I look forward to reviewing those webinars. Thank you, Legacy. So sorry to lose one our best.

Thanks for allowing us to review the webinars. This will give me a jump start on my husband's family, since I haven't got much information and both of his parents are passed.

Vale Judy Wight,
She was generous with her help when I led a study group to Salt Lake City in 1990. Her son Tim at the time was serving in Australia and by coincidence I had met him on a railway station.
I will remember Judy with much affection.

Thank you for opening up Judith's Irish webinars. It's good to realize that research into my Irish second great-grandmother (an Irish Famine immirant) may not be as hopeless as I always assumed. Thank you, Judith.
